Join the country's Search for the Most Outstanding Coastal Community!
The Malinis and Masaganang Karagatan (MMK) program of the Department of Agriculture - Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources will award coastal municipalities with exemplary efforts in protecting and conserving their marine environment.
MMK has five general criteria:
(1) no illegal fishing
(2) observance of closed fishing season
(3) establishment of marine protected areas
(4) clean coastal waters without domestic and industrial wastes(5) effective mangrove protection and rehabilitation program
The Top 3 winners will receive Php 30 million, Php 18 million, and Php 10 million worth of fisheries livelihood projects, respectively.
